CANNES YOUNG LIONS FILM 2023
In June 2023, my art director partner and I qualified in our local creative competition to represent Singapore in Cannes Young Lions. Participating in the film category, we created a film that answered a real brief in just in 48 hours. The result? A top 8 finish against 38 other teams.
THE FILM: REPEAT AFTER ME
BACKGROUND
In a country where young children in rural areas have no access to high-quality education, Rocket Learning India believes that all parents can be early educators at home.
The only problem? These parents don’t believe in themselves.
Many of them are insecure because they do not have an extensive educational background. Rocket Learning aims to change this mindset through an inspiring film that shows how confidently taking control of their children’s education can bring a positive effect on their children’s future.
STRATEGY AND INSIGHT
What kids see, they do.
Young children learn at an early age by imitating their parents. A behavior called “Modelling” by renowned psychologist Albert Bandura. By copying how their mother and father speak, act, and interact, a young child’s parents instinctively become their very first teacher.
To inspire parents to become confident teachers with Rocket Learning, we created a film that shows the positive impact of how having a confident attitude while teaching is imitated by their child while learning.
Empowered by the simple games and activities from Rocket Learning, any parent can become a confident teacher that inspires their child to become a confident learner.
